Frank: Is the 69 the same mast? I got a am/fm out of a 68 and I can check and see if the antenna is still there. Thanks Gil Buickgil@aol.com

 

Frank, I have an antenna that I took off my car and replaced with one in better shape. I do not know for sure if it was original, or if it is AM or AM/FM. Car has an AM but I also don't know if that was original. I can post a pic later if you are interested.

 

NON-POWER ANTENNA - 68/69 are the same at least for A-Bodies

AM antenna are telescoping and extend to almost 30 feet OK OK....not that far but pretty darn close

.....AM/FM antenna are one piece and significantly shorter.

Both use the same base and grommet

 

Alan, thanks for the info. Do you know this stuff off the top of your head, or do you have to look it up?

Frank, I'm pretty sure the antenna I have is the telescoping type, AM per Alan.

Frank, did some digging around tonight, no luck yet. I know it's somewhere...

 

I have 1 of those 30 foot long ones on my 68 :Brow: I didn't realize they used a different 1 for an AM/FM radio. Mine was originally an AM radio, but I switched it to AM/FM. Now I need to find the correct antenna too ou: Someday I will o No:

Frank, I haven't had a chance to continue the search yet. I spent the whole day out in 95deg temps at a show, maybe will get to do some more digging tomorrow.

Frank, was just out in the garage and could only find one that extendes. This is for AM radio only from what i've learned from this thread. Sorry, not what your looking for. Tom

 

I believe he needs both styles, and I have not yet found my AM antenna. Is that right Frank? Or did someone commit an AM style already?
