VFN Fiberglass. A friend just ordered one for his 70. Expect 3-4 weeks for it to arrive.

I wonder why my plain stock VFN hood is taking so long :af: (has been seven weeks now) I think I will call right now................................

they wanted almost $300.00 to mold a 2 inch cowl to a plain hood.

VFN does a good job of molding the scoops into the hood, they do take some time to do it, though.

I know it is not a 2" cowl, but mine is in my avitar.

Sorry I didn't make it clear. VFN provided the hood and scoop and molded them together.

The hood needed no prep for painting other than sanding and priming.

They do a great job, IMHO, in the finish of the area between the hood and the scoop. If it were up to me, I'd have them mold the cowl on when you purchase a fiberglass hood.

If you are thinking of molding a scoop onto a steel hood, then I don't know much about that.

    Thanks, BTW
