Ahh...that's been around for a while, hasn't it?

What's the hang-up with it? I've followed some of the earlier threads about it and it seems legit.

There can't be THAT many Cortez Gold, black bucket seat interior, Deluxe door panel, power window, Stage 1 , 4 speed, no vinyl roof 72s out there, can there? The one I'm remebering was in FLA and had some issues that needed to be taken care of at the time. It look likes everythings been taken care of from what I remember.

I tried a few times to hook up with the guy to see it, the weekend I was wanting to go down to see it was after BJ action, but then price went up to over $40,000.

Maybe the guy has some things going on but I did not have any luck.

Um yeah the car isn't the problem the seller is. I think it's a wife forced sell and he's acting like he's trying. If someone buys it great, if not save yourself some grief.

If this is the same car/seller then he has moved. He and it were in Mint Hill not Huntersville when I went to look at the car. Again, if this is the same car he has had it priced all over the place over the past few years. $19,500 is pretty close to where it needed to be so if he will really sell it in the high teens it may be worth somebody trying to buy it again. When I went to see it last fall he was asking 23,500 for it and I told a few folks on here I thought it was a high teens car. I can go look again if there is anyone out there interested.

    John,

    Thanks for the input.

The CL ad says "all numbers match". How close to true is that? Also, has there been any bodywork done at all?

Previous seller's name was Bill S., wds11801@yahoo.com, when I was talking to him in December he believed the car was numbers matching, but had not checked them himself so he wasn't positive.

I can't remember now. I'm getting old but I believe it was numbers matching. It had had a repaint somehwere in its past because it was originally a vinyl top car and now it is all gold. Having said that, it was a very solid straight car so if any body work had been done it was done well. The paint was tired but cleaned up reasonably well. Decent driver quality. All the smog crap was still in place further pointing to its originality. He also had a completely original 70 in triple green with around 70k miles on it. Non stage but cheaper. Again, if it's the same guy.

And besides the green and gold ones, I think he has a white 71. Not sure the green one is cheaper though, I think he wanted about the same money for it.
