Don't forget to check out the larger Pittsburgh Chapter of the BCA, the Pittsburgh Portholes - you can get their contact information from the BCA website. Great group of folks, Frank adn the folks he was talking about that go to the Wexford cruise are part of that group, have a 67 myself.
Larger ... yes. Does as much ... no.Youll have to forgive Keith, he doesnt like me very much and tried as hard as he could to pick a fight with me on the BCA board and couldnt get it done ... so he brought it over here. So yes James by all means check out this "larger" chapter . see what they actually do and compare.Ask them how many cars they have down the convention center right now? Ask them how many cruises theyve hosted. Ask them how many BCA regionals theyve hosted.Ask them how many times theyre chapter has been to the GM Nationals? Theyve been around for 3 years and have done 1 drive in cruise .... thats it.Ive got to admit they seem to have more brownie recipes than we do . But we are too busy planning and doing activities to be making brownies. They claim to be in Pittsburgh , but check out where they actually come from. And ask Keith if hes a member of any chapter ... or the BCA for that matter? And ask him why he quits the first time he doesnt get his way ? There are some fine people associated with the Portholes(Phil Dayen being one of those fine people)..... Keith isnt one of those fine people. Hes a childish trouble maker. Congratulations youve just met Keith Bleakney .... my own personal stalker. He follows me from post to post, board to board trying to start trouble. I feel just like a celebrity:laugh: Hey Keith Ill be down the convention center in Pittsburgh (you know about 30 miles from where you live in Butler ) at my chapter display with my cars. Why dont you drop on in and we can discuss that Special of yours .... James and I need parts for our 67s and your Special would make a fine donor car, and i wouldnt even have to repaint anything. Dan Heres theyre website: http://www.buickclub.org/pittsburghportholes/ Geez Keith the least you could of done was give him the link. Oh I forgot you really dont care you just want to stir the pot ....consider it stirred
You can still hang out with Eggs, Ratroaster and me, James. We like each other. And we tend to like others.
hey joe, didnt you live in shalar, own a 67 skylark and a 70-72 buick skyark/gs? or am i thinking of some1 else but yea good info in this thread for me to refer back to for machine work, and dan thanks for the referall to the body/paint shop.
Frank ... nice take on the names:laugh: . Id absolutely LOVE to be done with this stuff. Unfortunately Keith just cant seem to let it go. I didnt get on this post to start a war . I didnt make any comments at all about the size or loyalty of any other chapter . The man (James ) said he was looking for Buick people in the area. I happen to know some. I just said if your interested .... we are here. But Keith had to turn it into a pissing contest . This happens every time I post on this or the BCA board about my chapter. Im getting tired of it too, its getting old, but I guess this is all Keith has to do with the new free time he haso No: . By the way James ... it was nice meeting you tonight. Im glad John was able to help you out. Dan
That's me!! I owned a 67 special 4 door till Sept. I sold it to a friend who absolutely had to have it. I told him what to expect and he didn't mind. He's putting 22" steamrollers on it. My cousin is going to give it a 1/2 body lift. It ought to be interesting when done. I still have the 70 GS and the 71 Skylark 455. In Oct I bought an 86 T-type from a friend in Seattle. He drove it to Indy and Ratroaster and me drove from his place in Boardman to pick it up. Here's the fleet, you may have seen me in one of these. The 67 Special 4door. <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b240/gsjoe/67buick.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a> The 70 GS. <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b240/gsjoe/34744028-L.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a> The 71 Skylark 455. <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b240/gsjoe/fdc5272006_IMG_8831.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a> And the 86 T-type. <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b240/gsjoe/1303079781_l.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a>
I'm glad to finally get to meet some Buick guys beside nothingface5384, and I'm REALLY glad i talked to John. Can't wait to get started on my project... Joe, if you guys are up to anything, especially going to shows/drags, drop me an email. I'd love to see some BBBs or Turbo6s in action. Might be needing some help when I start my project.
Dan, thanks for the kind words, I can always count on you to get ugly. BTW, you may need to paint the parts that you want to use from my 67 as mine is code F Blue Mist and I believe yours is Code D Sapphire Blue. Any part you would use though would vastly improve your Skylark.:moonu:
