X2 you will need to allow the air to cool for the separator to work.

When I moved into my new place 10 years ago, my friend got me the ultimate housewarming gift: 175 psi 25 gal Craftsman compressor with 3.5hp oilfree motor. Runs nice & quiet while pumping up quick. Moisture separator a must before the hose spool. He also gave me a couple of his older blue point air guns, but also gave me a very nice MAC 1/4" impact wrench which is great for working on bike engines. I've since gotten some nice MAC & Snap-On guns, plus a few orbitals for waxing & polishing.

since i dont have much to offer in way of Buick knowledge, i thought i'd chime in here.

as sa guy with limited funds and knowledge, i need to be smart with where i send my cash. Ive spent too much on always going the cheap way out - meaning i end up spending more on replacing a crappy part with the RIGHT part than i would have if i just got the right part to begin with.

anyway i spent months researching compressors when my wife finally made me fork out the cash to get electric run out to the garage. had been running 2 100ft extensions from the house and with the new lawn, she wasnt about to let that happen anymore.

so having used various harbor freight tools with some good luck and some horrific ones, i read that the HF compressors sare the same as the ones from campbell hausfield you find in lowes, home depot, etc.

well my local HF had a 12 cfm/60 gallon tank on sale for 389 plus 20% off coupon. i took a bIG chance on it and got it home and wired up (220v). i can honestly say its been a great purchase. got a good craftsman impact gun and the thing cranks. can sandblast, grind, cut etc. it is LOUD! and refills a lot when using a lot, but its ok.

my point- i know we like sears and for tools i wont use crappy ones. but this compressor is priced within the realm of the home hobbyist and i cant imagine what you could ask it to do that it wouldnt be able to handle. id prob stay away from the HF air tools tho - i got a few and the best thing about em is they dont weigh down the garbage can too much for the trash guys.

Don't knock the 1/2" HF Earthquake impact gun though. It really earns it's spot on the end of the air hose.
