    Hey,

I'm getting ready to install core support patches & an inner fender patch. I've found lots of pix of core support repairs--but none that show the process of removing the original core support.

Any pics or tips that may help me get this (and the inner fender) done? I'm the kind of guy that ends up removing upholstery, gas tanks, light bulbs, items from the glove box, etc., just because I assume the car has to be dismantled for every little thing. :Dou: Bottom line: I always end up creating way more work for myself than I need to. That's something I'd really like to avoid this time around.

I believe you can keep the fenders in place while removing an inner fender. True, or just a nasty rumor?

What must come off, what can I leave on, when removing the core support?

    Thanks guys, :beer

It's easiest to remove the hood, remove the fenders with the inners attached. Get a good helper and be very careful. Basically you want to reverse the way the factory put it together. Mark your hood mounting location with tape or a scribe and keep note of the shims that are in various locations. If everything comes apart nicely, you can remove all this stuff fairly quickly, although, don't rush the job so as to not mess up your paint.

Tape the edges of the parts like jambs with the non sticky green tape to keep from dinging the paint.
