Are there any decent ways to HotRod a 4-Cylinder, Early 80's Buick Skyhawk. I want to unlock the full potential of the little engine, without blowing it up. Please Don't flame me for asking about an old Puny Buick, It is the only buick I have, and this is the only buick site I have found. Any real advice is greatly appreciated.

My only guess would be to upgrade your plugs, wires, distributor, air cleaner. Sometimes the only way to hotrod a car is to make sure that it is taken care of. Simple things like plugs and wires make a huge difference.
    Good luck...

    Thank for your advice.

I have already replaced plugs and wires. I am trying to make a homemade cold-air intake for the little beast. I have to make an oval shaped adapter for the throttle body, then attach it to some 3 inch pvc pipe to route it to the front or bottom of the car. I also plan to do something with the exhaust later. I was hoping that someone would tell me some little secret to fully unlock the potential of the 2.0L 4 cyl. Does anyone know where to look for turbochargers, superchargers, and other little goodies like that? Where can I find Headers for a 4 cyl engine?

The car is an 84' buick skyhawk.

    Madcat455 Need..more... AMMO!!!

Buddy of Mine used to have an 84 Skyhawk Ttype that came stock with a turbo.... He had that thing running 12's... Bigger turbo. Only problem he had with it was he kept melting pistons cause it was running lean. Last I knew he was going to get larger injectors for it (MPFI) to try to fix the prob. That little car was a blast, you'd never expect it to run like that. I think he gave up on it to start with his AWD trubo Talons. He might actually still have it. I don't think you can put a turbo on without changing over to the MPFI.... NA cars came with TB on those Brazilian 2.0's. If you go that route, you better have a Manual trans... the autos won't take that abuse for long:gt:
