Anybody put a "modern" console in their Buick?

For a couple of years, I've been mulling over the idea of building my own console / armrest / storage between my new (86 Riv) power bucket seats.

Looking around evilbay, I saw several newer consoles, and got to wondering about modding one to fit a big Buick.

Anybody else done something like this, or have any ideas?

Going well down here, but it went from "too hot" to "too danged cold" as far as the junkyard's concerned, I haven't been there in awhile. Got an MSD box wired in, and the posi installed, life is good!

I checked out Skymangs' post - how'd I miss that saga? Terrific car!

I'm thinking of a console that'll tie into the dash where the useless ashtray goes, with lots of cupholders, storage, and room for power window and seat switches, which prolly means either some serious junkyard sleuthing or a DIY console.
