    Several years ago, I picked up a Holley 4011, part # 84016 - which is a spreadbore 650cfm.

    There is also an 800cfm 4011 (part # 84015).

Question I have....can the 650cfm unit be 'taken out' to an 800cfm (or more)?? Looks like there's alot of room around the throttle blades (base is removeable). Shaft is too thick, screws are too big....you know, the usual.....tons of room for improvement.

They're a pretty neat carb - the top is removeable, more like a Q-Jet. The base is one piece, also more like a Q-Jet. Power valves are both removeable from the bottom (they have their own separate covers).

Any of you guys ever mess with these carbs? I know they're not all that popular....didn't really seem to 'take off', sales wise.

Here is the exploded view, if you're curious what this one looks like.
