I had a cap, doors, hood and decklid from VFN. Top quality stuff. I'll definately buy from them again. The hood came separate as did the scoop and the underside hardware. GS doors would be nice too. Maybe I'm better off that they don't. I'd probably do something stupid like cut my car up for a tube chassis car again. Geez, I sound like my wife. :spank: ou:
I have questioned "WHY?" for YEARS, "If a CHEVELLE has a Flip Front available, that WORKS, then WHY can't one be done for a SKYLARK?" o No: The answers that I got, were mostly "The Core Support is a different piece than the Chevelle, and it will interfere with the Fenders and Radiator clearance, as the Front End (TILTS FORWARD)!" uzzled: I NEVER "Believed" that, as I know all about "Customizing" cars, and if ONE can be done, there HAS to be a WAY to do it to ANOTHER car! :Smarty: PROOF is in these PICTURES (just as I thought!)! :Smarty: :TU: :bglasses:
Jim Lil joe had the same front as my 'ol Thumper, pieces came from the same factory. It comprised of fiberglass fenders, hood and bumper, each an individual piece. And,very well done. gary
Guys, Would a one piece front end also have the bumper molded into it? And what would you do with the grill, leave a hole there, so it would stay mounted to the core support? Duane
Duane, I was looking through some catalogs from VFN and other places and the 1 piece frontend for a 70-72 Chevelle comes with a flat hood, bumper and open grille as a unit.Alot of dragracers just get decals made for the headlights as well as a grille like the one posted by leo455 above.I would like to get a front shot of John Zerucha's car as I believe it has a glass front on it too.As for the radiator support,it will no longer be used and you have to make a radiator mount that would attach it to the frame.S&W racecars in Spring City Pa sells a frontend fiberglass body mount kit for under 100 bucks that you have to glass it to the clip and it has slip joints so it could be removed from the car entirely. That is why I would rather get a clip and then I wont have to worry about using up a good radiator support and then I wont be forced to use my 70 NOS grille on my racecar. But itlooks like thats where the old NOS grille is heading.
