Anyone know 1960s Ford racers?

I have a friend who is entering a contest to modify a diecast. It's for a '66 Fairlane, although it could be a '67 - not sure at the moment. He wants to build a replica of an old racer, but he doesn't know of any, and a Net search has turned up nothing. Any of you old timers here may be able to help?

    Thanks!

    Here's your man:

This car belongs to Paul Adams. Paul is around 70 years old and is still racing (and winning races) with the NSCA's "Pro Nostalgia" class.

Car runs high 8's/low 9's depending on the weather and has been featured on the cover of the NSCA and NHRA rulebooks.

Don was running for Mercury from 64 until he did the Pinto in 71.
Ran Comets, then the Flipper Funny Comets of 66&7 then to the Cougars.
Ronnie Sox also ran for Mercury in 64, as did Ed Shartman, 65 through the early 70s.
Chrisman ran the 3rd "Flopper" out of Cal. in 66.
None of them ran "Fords" at that time.
Clester Andrews ran for Wickersham Ford out of Orange Texas, but that was a Mustang, as were most of that era.
Most of the Fords at that time were the Mustangs, as they fit to be the replacement for the "Thunder Bolts of 64".
To the Best of My knowledge, (which is limited), there were only 2 "Factory 427 Falcons" built and Campaigned back then. (
I don't remember any "Big Names" running the Fairlanes in 66-7, which now is kind of a shame.
I am SURE there were a few, that marked the right boxes on the order sheets to get the 427 in the GTs, and possibly some of the sedans, but don't remember many getting the attention they deserved.

Keith, I am the individual looking to replicate a scale 67 Fairlane and Pauls car is perfect for this. I tried to send you a PM but being that I had no posts, my message was sent to the trash can. If you have more pictures of Pauls car, I would really like to see them. Also, I will be needing paint codes, which only Paul would know. Would you have an email address where I might contact Paul?

    Please let me know,

    John

Tasca Ford in Rhode Island (?) had the inside track to Dearborn Experimental Engineering back then. Maybe look in that direction. I know they did have Mustangs, but with as much as they were doing, I'll bet there was a 66-67 Fairlane in there.

Bob Ford (Dearborn), Stark Hickey Ford (Detroit)... both had dealer/factory sponsored cars back then. Not sure if a 66 Fairlane.
