Yes, bunches and bunches of 69 Camaros were made. While a SS Camaro maybe isn't rare as far as the numbers producted, it is very sought after. Things to look for on the SS would be front disc brake and 12 bolt rear. Check out the sites below for info also.

Yes it has the disc brakes option. From what I have read so far, it seems the the x22d80 (ss396 w/spoilers) is the most desirable camaro except for copos and the pace cars. What else should I look for? Im going back down there today to see what else I can find.

It should have a numbers match vin if its the original engine, also the trans will have them also on pass side stamped vertically. Look for the deluxe interior, headrests, in dash tach, console, gauges on console, There was a pile of options on these cars. See if it has the letter code on engine. You could be lucky enough to have found a 375 HP 396. They came stock with alum intake and holley carb. What a find!!!:TU: :TU:  There is also a "Camaro White Book" in print that lists every option and how many were built with what options. Very interesting reading, that is where I discovered my 67 Camaro had the very rare manual disc brake with metallic rear pads option.
