Man George, you're really getting into the plumbing today. When you're done with the Buick, I have a leaky faucet in my kitchen that could use some help :pp

I don't know what that one is..........

I`d be glad to come your way and take care of that faucet for you. :beer :beer

I see the same valve or whatever is its purpose in the pic and the same one was on my engine and a vacuum hose connects to it but what the hell is its purpose?i try to blow through it but it seems to be solid without any air coming out to the other side, where can i locate one of these funky looking things?

    Thanks

Did you try blowing air the other way? I don't remember what it did when I had it apart, because I was wondering the same thing you were. I was thinking maybe it was a check valve. Doesn't it run to the heater box? (that's what this one did, and it fed the vacuum diaphragm that opened and closed the door for the heater core.)

Adam,on mine it was screwed on the manifold and a vacuum hose coming from the heater switch panel in the dash,it says in my manual that its the vacuum source for the vacuum system which operates the heater/AC system, but this valve maybe stuck or went bad and that may be the reason why my heater gets cold after a while,do you know where i can buy a new one of these?

    Thanks

No I don't, but I can't imagine that they are too hard to find used. Thankfully, mine was clean and I didn't have any problems in that area.
