We are considering relocating to Cary, NC. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about this area? How is the Buick scene? Schools? Neighborhoods to avoid, etc. I will be looking for work in the RTP area. Thanks in advance, Marc
From what I hear, you will fit right in Marc. Everyone in Cary is from the NY/NJ area! I hear Cary stands for "Central Area for Relocated Yankees" or something to that effect. Cary was on the short list of places we were looking to re locate to. Jason
We live right beside Cary. It has more PHDs in engineering per capita than any other city in the US. One of my old classmates is the City attorney. I remember when it was just a little crossroads town that we played against in football and basketball. It is a highly planned and regulated community. The only place that I can compare it to is Hilton Head, SC. Traffic has turned to hell there. The commute to RTP is one of the worst I have ever seen anywhere. Very few Buicks here.
Marc, Im a transplanted yankee (NY/NJ to SC) once you come to the south you will never go back. Dont worry about the traffic its nothing like the NJ Turnpike at rush hour

Cary area Certainly on my top 5 list of places to live (and maybe 1 or 2 on that list), though I'd prolly go a little east of Raleigh. :TU: :TU: :TU: Then again, I'm a golfing NUT! :grin:
