Thanks for responding It is in Natick.. Got some pictures from the owner, but not all I requested, so before wasting anybody's time I gotta see quarter panels and trunk.. Will write as soon as I know something..
Depending on the sheet metal, that would be in the ballpark yes.. One of the pictures I got, shows the car from the side, and even though it's not that high resolution, it looks like it has bubbles over the wheel arches.. If it needs replacement panels, it's nothing for me..
It would be interesting if it's the one I knew of about 7-8 years ago, was in amazing shape at the time. I almost want to go check it out even if you aren't going to buy it. -BC
https://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/cto/d/1971-buick-skylark/6389233268.html It's this one.. Many things can happen in 7-8 years Still waiting for pics..
The biggest issue as your probably aware is the frame on those cars. Someone has to get under it and give the frame the ball peen hammer test. Especially a car from the northeast
That's not the one I knew about - especially since he has only owned it 3 years. But I'm always happy to go have a look and meet another Buick guy. Something seems fishy with the ad, though. He lost his garage space so he wants to trade it for another car? If you don't have the garage space any more, well never mind. Let me know if you'd like me to check it out.
Saw the same thing, and thought about it as well, and when I got an email back without pictures of the engine, quarter panels, trunk and underneath my suspicion got worse.. The interior and top looks good, but if it's rotten it can stay in the US
Well, haven't heard anything yet, and doubt I will.. I think he pictures he sent me was strategic not showing bad areas.. Thanks for be willing to help out
Rats. I always enjoy seeing another Buick. And I was going to take bets whether it was a Chevy 350... Like I said I will be in Natick Friday anyhow, I'm happy to stop by. -Bob C.
If you going to be in the area anyway..... At the least you would satisfy your curiosity, not to mention everyone else's!
Chris just posted this one down in the "leads" section, looks like something you may be interested in: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/sault-ste-marie/1971-buick-skylark-custom/1318819890
If the car spent its life in Boston, it has some rust. You need to look in other parts of the country if that's a deal killer because 99% will have repaired quarters or some other rust -repair issue. They may not be rusting hulks but they will be fixed up. I just repaired the "see-through" areas of my trunk this spring ;-)
Well, as guessed I haven't received any replies from seller, so just wanted so say thanks to everyone who chimed in..
