Maybe this is a flight of fancy, but here goes. I was curious if anyone on the board is near North Platte, Nebraska. That's the last location I know of where my '69 LeSabre was located. I about had it bought back from the truck driver about 13 years ago, but my dad talked me out of it. Truck driver died of a heart attack and had no next-of-kin, so his ex-father-in-law ended up with the car. The only picture of the car I have is my senior picture. I posted it in the other rides section, but I'll post it here as well. The car was 2 door, 400 Series, dark green, with light green vinyl top, tinted windows. I'm just basically trying to see if anyone on the board from the area has seen the car or can offer up any leads. Stranger things have happened. Ok, here's a pic of what it looks like. Pay no attention to me, it's my senior picture.
Hey I'm curious too, although not for reasons like Chris. I was born and raised out there and wondered if I might know anyone on here that's out there. Good luck finding your old wheels, Chris. Where in Iowa are ya from?
Oakland, Iowa to be exact, Robert. It's good to see some people close-by that are into Buicks. You ever go to any of the cruise nights in Omaha? I'm sure we may run into each other eventually. :beer :TU:
Don't know how many times I have said I was going and something happens and seems I never get there. I assume you are talking about by Manglesen's off of 84th? Anyway, I live over by Lake Zorinsky just off of "F" St. between 144th and 156th. Good to hear back from ya. And in all actuallity Eric is the real Buick nut. Talk later, Chris.
What you talkin' bout Willis, I ain't no nut. Chris, We lived in North Platte up until about 10-11 years ago but don't recall ever seeing that car. Sorry.
Chris, got any names? We are gonna go back again this coming weekend and may be able to do some sleuthing around. Just got to be careful.. They still carry shotguns in the rear windows of their trucks out there!!!
The truck driver's name was Richard Reel. He evidently had a daughter named Melissa. The trucking company came up with a number in Tacoma, Washington they stumbled across. That's all I've got to go on as of now. I'm gonna try the daughter's number, maybe I'll get a lead. I was told he had no children, I guess he did after all.
Chris, Greg and I are in N.P. now for the weekend. I just looked in the phone book and there are no Reels' listed. Do you have the name of the father in law, or perhaps the daughter is married, do you have her married name?
I don't have anything on the daughter's married name yet. I did some searching on the phone number in Washington I got today. It was disconnected, but they changed the Tacoma area code from 206 to 253, so I'm gonna try the phone number tomorrow and see if that works with the new area code. I'll keep you posted as of tomorrow. By the way, thanks for poking around for me guys. :beer :beer :beer
