Looking for pictures and comments on the American Racing VN500 wheels in 17". Would really like to see a picture of a 65 Skylark with them on.

    Thanks,

Thanks Richie. Those are sweet looking wheels on that car. Don't seem to be many around though.

They are nice. I wish I had a set. My wheel of choice if I ever can afford them.

the more I look at them reminds me of a magnum wheel, I'd like to see some pics on a 68-72 skylark.

The cap area opening in pictures appears to be rather small- does anyone know if the factory A body Buick center caps will fit? I really like these wheels too and would strongly consider them at some point in the future.

    Eivind,

Thanks for the link and the pictures. Very nice car. Those wheels look fantastic on your car. Love the color too.

Anyone ever figure out if stock center caps fit? I just received my wheels today and I'm too anxious to wait for the weekend to find out.

Year one said there were issues with the center caps they offer and I told them just send the wheels with the inserts and without center caps.

Would be nice to not have to buy center caps...[IMG]

Just an FYI, they do fit if you bend the tabs out a bit. I'll probably glue them to the wheel as well to make sure they don't come off.

Thank you for the update. I am interested in doing just that for my VN-500 wheels. Where did you buy the Buick center caps? I want to make sure I get the right ones.

These are factory 71-72 center caps. They are reproduced. I think a board member here sells both these and the black 70 caps. Original parts group also sells center caps at 65 a piece. Since I have a lot of money in wheels and tires now I've considered replacing all 4 with repops

Larry, thank you. I'd much rather give a member here money and those prices are half what original parts group charges

Thanks guys for the information. I think they will be a nice improvement on my VN-500 wheels.

Here is a picture of my AR500 center cap. The grip point of the snaps are 2 1/8 in diameter. I just want to confirm that the above Buick Tri Shield center caps will fit. Thanks.
