I'm not running one but he's supposed to be the guru and has a great and old reputation for knowing what he's doing.I would rather have a TH 400 with a GV unit but a 200 on steroids would be a great weight savings move,in my opinion.

That's awesome! I like the idea of this better than a 400 with a GV OD. The 200 has more overdrive

The guy with the blue Vette is on the Corvette Forum.I've not been to that site in almost two years. He was having no problems with this transmission. He also defies the myth that a 4 bolt main 400 sbc is not as strong as the 2 bolt, and is prone to cracking.

ive been looking at 200's for awhile myself and have decided to deal with Lonnie Diers at www.extremeautomatics.com when the time comes. Id check out them too, Lonnie is very well respected in the turbo6 world. Brian @ CK is too and you could also check with Vince Janis @ Janis Transmission ( Ohio based ). All of these guys will do your job right. Art's got good stuff too but seems a bit pricey. However for you its in your backyard and may save you on shipping, I dunno?

My buddy just bought two of those art carr tranny's for his salt flat car. They are top notch for sure. I think the art stuff is exactly what what they say it is, or does . Another friend, yes I have more than one, has been using them for his stuff and his customers stuff for a long time and I have yet to hear anything but good stuff. My 2004r will have his crap in it even if I have to wait a bit longer to buy it.

The 200r4 will have less parasidic HP loss than a 400 as well as being lighter. Also probably cheaper than a 400 plus a GV OD, unless you already have good 400.

The only thing negative about a 400 with GV is no lock up. IMHO

Adam I don't have much info to give you. John Kozac who is a BCA member built it for me. It is supposed to have all the good parts or quality parts.
It has a 700 pump, hardened stator shaft, hardened drum and a GN converter.
It also has a 4th gear pressure switch for the lock up. It works fine but I have always been hesitant to really get on it and let it go through the gears.
Sorry I couldn't give more info. :beer

Bob, what kind of mileage do you get with your engine/trans combo?

    Thanks in advance,
    Steve.

Steve I get 15 mpg if I Stay under 65. Not too bad for a car that will boil the hides like it's on ice.

I have the same mods as Bob and beat the crap out of mine. He probably has about 75 more HP than me. I run a 3:73 gear and almost always have on drag radials.
