I've been driving it a little more now .so the mileage is up to 18,000.Still original paint ,interior, etc.
Yes,this is the car I built as a over-the-counter Stage 2 back in 1969.Raced for some years in G/S in AHRA competition.
Thanks for the help posting,I'm still a little techno challenged.

    My pleasure helping out Gary.....
Just curious why the article doesn't mention the "Stage2 Factor..."

How Ironic is it that the class you raced it in was "G/S" :bglasses:

now to needle you a bit :Brow: ...Im going to hold you to writing an article about You and this Car's History....Stage2 doc's...receipts and all. Its a Buick Story that needs to be told.

How many Stage2's (let alone '69 !!) do you think are still with thier original owners ???? With that kind of mileage ??? Winter is coming....things will slow down.... and Im sure Rick can use material for the Build Sheet !!!

Got to second that. That car truly deserves to be in the Build Sheet.

Gary, you got to include the pic of Doug strapped in a car seat in 1970. :TU: Nothing like starting them young. Randy

I have that article intact in the MAG!

I think I have that article intact in the Muscle Car Review, and forgot all about that car! Gary, you should bring that car to the Buick RaceDay 2005 car show for all to see, that would be a treat! :bglasses: :spank:

    Thanks Roberta,
I stopped bringing it to shows about '95,I think the last time was the Norwalk event.Although its nice it can't compete with the frame-offs.Not to take anything away from them, after all a lot of time, work and money goes into recreating what the factory produced(usually better). But "Blue" has some stone nicks, thin paint where the primer is starting to show thru,no options, etc,It would be neat if there was ever a Survivor class though, where at least 80% of the paint is original and the interior too.
Jim Rorbough's car is very similar ,he's the original owner and its still original, except for some engine mods, but it also would not be competitive with some of the resto's.I wonder how many original owners there are out there,a few come to mind..Rich Lassiter, the above Jim,John chamberlain,Keith Cronkite,Me...I'm sure others.Maybe this would be an interesting poll???
