Dougy, when did you run 8.94 or is that your wishful thinking, or did I miss something? Good luck tomorrow, kick it up a notch! RV
Roberta, you must've missed my earlier posts on that subject. Four years ago on a clear, crisp December day when I went 9.06@148.35....I stuffed Scotty Guadagno in the car and the little smart aleck went 8.94@148.66. I knew the car had an eight in it and I was right. That episode is why I tell the smart alecks of the present (Gary K, John Jr., John Z., Jeff from Stage1) who graciously offer to drive my car into the eights, that it's a case of been there...done that. I'm fully aware of what the car will do with a lighter driver. I want it to run eights with your favorite Rhino behind the wheel. :TU: AND IT WILL!!
Well you certainly have some good air today to finally drive her into the 8's. A nice round 8.88 rolls off the tongue nicely:TU:
Ohhhh Man !! Now I gotta clean FruitLoops off the monitor !! I was laughing so hard I think they came out my noseuzzled: Good Luck today Doug....Its 24 deg. here on L.I. so Its gotta be cold there too !!
Doug no doubt you will get there aka "Rhino behind the wheel" But I beleive that 8 second run with Scotty behind the wheel was two or three motors ago also, it's not the current one in your car. Yes the car is capable of 8 second times but you still have to reach it with the current engine and along with you as the driver.:moonu: Rick....(See Doug I can be nice too...Squid:laugh: ) PS: Hope I get a call on the nextel today of the good news of those new 8 second time slips. If you went to Atco I will bet on you doing it. E-Town??? may be a toss up as traction may be the problem. Either way good luck.
Must say Englishtown had the track hooking hard today. First run the car went so high on launch I forgot to pull second!!!o No: The 60 foot was a best 1.29 !!! best ever I was right next to Dougs car on his first 8 and saw him carry wheels high up and almost to 60 foot clocks!!! My next run was 9.48 with a 60 foot of 1.32 and had to drive alittle. The last pass was 9.43 @ 140.37 w/60 foot 1.31 and I lost first round because I broke out!!! Really did not care..:bglasses: Just went home with a big smile on my face.
So Rob now that you buried the record for the fastest and quickest times ever for a full body GS with factory steel heads, what could be next...........:Brow: Great to hear the news!! Rick Martinez
Hey Rick, I just might have to bench the steel heads and go aluminum Stage 1. After I see how much power your engine makes I will have to do something!!:beer Got a long winter to think about that. Hope for a great dyno number on your new engine and I will have to beat it !!!!:moonu: See ya, Rob
Way to go Doug and Rob! I ran 9.96 (best ever), not bad for what the car is.... I had a heads up (10.00) race against a girl first round. I redlit.....then I looked at a timeslip and realized I had run her earlier and she had run a 9.74! Damn could have pushed her out easy if I'd had anything green. ....if I'd been thinking. But I was on cloud nine after running a 9 sec ET! Silly little numbers that we get excited about.... Bruce 9.96/133 71 Stage 2
