So all the abuse will stop I have helped myself sorta!! Im not a fan of the TA black valve covers I like the polished look so I went to a friend who is just starting out in the engraving business and she wanted to see if she could engrave the KenneBell off and put something more appropriate and since TA built my engine originally :Brow: :Brow: Hows this MIKE???
Me Like Mike!! Or should that be...Be Like Mike!! I also prefer the polished look...at the very least, on the fins and sides with an appropriate color in the 'valleys'. Seems like a perfect way to 'upgrade' those old K-B valve covers!!:TU: Kind of an 'out with the old, in with the new' statement! (No disrespect meant for K-B - they had done alot for the Buick community in the past...but, that was then...this is Now).
 Sharp looking valve covers I loved polished and finned.....similar to what I wish I could have on the Regal 455... cept I'd engrave something like 455 CU. IN. , 7.5 LITER or STG 1 REGAL!! ( the T/A PERFORMANCE logo is awesome tho) But they don't have the beveled edge for A/C heater box clearance for our Regals.
Mike, What did you ever do with the bad crank journal on the 535? Is it back together, and are you gonna run it soon??
Should be going to the dyno soon with the whole thing it was turned 10 under looks good at this point only about $1200 so far AND I am now making a 10 qt oil pan so i dont run it out of oil again .........
Polished valve covers equate to a 9 second pass for sure. I've got a set of KB's which we simply milled off the fins and left the "Buick",Definately an improvement. Too bad none of the cast V/C's will clear moy rockers now.
Good deal.. Mike T. deserves a TON of credit for that engine, and the way it ran in my car. He did a fantastic job for me, and I hope it runs as good as it did before. J:beer
Re: Good deal.. Yes Mike does get the credit !! AND without his help it would still be on the stand broken!! Now as far as Im concerned the way Im traveling with it now it should run better than it did in your car!! I will post the dyno facts about the motor as soon as we get done. Testing and tuning will now begin!!:TU:
Gary, did you get those from SRE Performance Fabrications?they look awesome, what did u pay for them if you done mind me asking? Thanks
