Just got off the phone with my buddy who is trying to order some tires for his Impala. He was not able to get the B.F. Goodrich radial TA in the sizes he wanted. His supplier called B.F. direct and was told that they are making minor changes to the tread design. The supplier was told that the manufacturer is adding sipes to help with road noise. Anyone else heard a similar story? My friend was told he was looking at about the 2nd week in July before the tires would be available.

With the price of rubber and fuel these days, you would think we're in the middle of a world war! Oh wait a minute...

I got one of the last sets of 245/60/15's in the country earlier this week. They are making changes, and some sizes won't be available for a few months.

That's funny, I clicked on the link and their showing as "out of stock", I then clicked the substitute button two more times and both times those showed "out of stock" also.

You might have gotten lucky and they only got a few in.

I searched the whole country and only found 3, one close by, which I bought and two in SC.

And yes BFG is not making them yet, I called them and they told me the same thing, they said that they will be making them soon though, he couldn't tell me a date but he did say they were going to start soon.

That's good, do you have them on already :Brow: .

I was thinking of going to 245's but I'm happy with the 235's. I would have had to buy 3 tires too if I did that. I only had to buy one, I just needed a spare as the spare I got was a 14" and that's not good seeing that I have 15".

I found a real good 15" wheel on eBay and I found the one tire at SEARS, it was about 1.5 hour drive from me so I got them to ship it to my local SEARS and I just picked it up there and I mounted it when I got home.

I have a 14" tire and Buick Ralley wheel up for sale know :) , I just have to get some photo's together and I'll post it in the "for sale" section. :TU:

Naaaahh... it's 100 degrees out there today.... I'm hibernating... indoors.
I found a deal on some wheels last year (Thanks Ken!), so I figured it was time to upgrade from the Goodyear Polyglass GT's I bought in 1982!!
I have several cars, so I can swap stuff around depending on where I'm driving.
255's fit almost all of them, but the 275's only fit on my blue car... which happens to be the quickest in my stable.
245's should fit the 79 Turbo Regal I'm kinda working on now....but maybe I'll try a different tire since the BFG's are soooo hard to come by.

I hear ya there, I'm doing the same thing.

I ran a lot of TOYO tires on all the vehicles at work (and on my truck) and those are a great tire also, they wear real well and last a long time and are very good griping tires.

They also have a "Trail Offer" http://toyotires.com/tires/trial-offer going on right now where if you buy the tires and don't like them you can get your money back.

    .

I'm running 235-60R-15's on the front and 275-60R-15's on the rear of my GSX and I like that set up right now.

I wonder if they are doing some compound modifications with the tread re-design. Some tire technology has come quite a ways with tires getting quieter, stickier, longer lasting and allowing for better mpg's (lower rolling resistance).

It would be nice to know before you set your mind on a set only to find they are BO
