B&M Quicksilver...

    I have a B&M quicksliver shifter in my 80 firebird and i was wondering if anyone would no if it a th250 transmission would work with it it says it works with th350's and th400's but a guy at a wrecker is tryin to say the th250 shoudl hook up and stuff but i think hes just tryin to screw me around and not give me the th350 i asked for if anyone can help that would be awesome.

    as far as i know the ratchet shifter comes with a couple different linkages and brackets to mate to certain transmissions. i can check the box mine came in and see if it came with a linkage for the 250. but i don't believe it did. there are warnings all over the directions that if it's not properly installed you can destroy your transmission with one shift. i wouldn't try it unless i knew i had the right linkage. if your cable is not installed correctly you can have the same thing happen. i'd check with b&m on there website or call them if you can find a number. find out if it's compatable with that trans. and if it is order the correct linkage hardware and cable to work with it from them. i've found out the hard way that takeing some reputed "car guy's" word for it can be costly. i'll check the left over parts from mine to night and post you back, if you'd like.

    The THM 350 and 250 are almost identical outside, it's inside that they differ. The shifter will connect to the 250 the same way it would connect to the 350.
