Hi all, I have started gutting the interior of my Wildcat Custom in preparation for the Custom Sport interior and had a question about the back seat "Buttons"( see pics)

Some of the trim buttons were installed quite crooked and I was wondering if it's worth trying to fix them. The vinyl is amazingly still soft . I could live with it, but it bugs me.

It looks so nice I wouldn’t touch it.

Thanks, I did try to remove and straighten it, but the surrounding vinyl won't bounce back after 50 years, so I put it back crooked. Adds to the cars charm;)

Just tilt your head to the right a little when you look at them!

Gary these cleaned up beautifully -- nice to see you were rewarded for your trip West

Thanks, They far exceeded my expectations when I saw them and even dirty, you could tell these would clean up well. The condition of the vinyl and the stitching especially along the top where the seats get sun fried, is great. I half expected that they would only be good for cores. All the soft parts are in good shape, but 2 interior panels need work. I even removed the trunk lid seal (after close to an hour) and it came off intact!

Spent 6 hours in the heat today removing the custom interior, scraped all the loose tar board from the backside of the roof, sanded the surface rust and pressure washed the interior (Dashboard covered ) including removing all the prairie dirt from the quarter panels on back. The rear window lifters are silver again. Loose seam sealer is removed and will be replaced tomorrow along with a coat of Por 15. Still lots to prep before the new interior goes in.
