OK..here is the deal if you turn on the parking lights or parking/headlights without the ignition on the backup lights are off but turn on the ignition or when the car is running the backup lights stay on?? On a 69 the rear bumper has both the center light and the ones on the tail lights and all three work together in this malfunction. o No:
the backup lights operate thru the backup light switch . when it fails, the backup lights stay on when the ignition is on . the backup lights s/b on their own circuit . good luck.
