Just finished up after buying some fiberglass goodies for my '65 Lark Convert. drag car, "badbuik". I bought the Glasstech pin on hood with the extended 6 in. cowl scoop, and also the pin on decklid. The decklid is a great piece, the hood, well since know on else makes one, I love it.... Just kidding, they must have had a bad core, the body lines and "shape" is not the same as stock, kinda like if ya mated a 66 and a 65 hood.... I also did a gut job to the doors and redid the handles in aluminum. so after gutting, and removing the "old stuff" I ended up taking 104.5lbs out of the car. An expensive "diet" but, oh well, its a race car... New front rims are in the near future, so whats in the pic will end up for sale pretty soon...

Hmmm. My Glasstech hood is pretty nice except the passengers side sticks up about a 1/3" from the fenders. When did you get the hood?

Mine is a bolt on style.

I got the hood about 2 months ago... Car is "street legal" in the cents it is still registered and insured. Haven't been out a lot lately it has been hot!! Still chasing suspension, and now that I made the car lighter, I'll still be chasing it!! Still haven't "hit" the second stage of nitrous yet, tracks have been bad, and had to buy new slicks. Gonna take the car out in the beginning of Oct. then off to Vegas in Nov. for the Street Car Super Nationals. Gary G.

They made you the wrong hood!!!

They used a hood I brought to them for Jim's {Offbrand} hood for the inner mold for the bolt on version.

I think the original mold hood was Ken Watson's on the board.

Is the cowl scoop touching thw windshield. By the way I would be calling them and get the right hood.

I'm hoping that I don't have to get a different hood. I was almost positive that a 66-67 hood would be wider than the 64-65s' I just was gonna except the fact that it was a poor copy... I'll call them on Monday but not gonna hold my breath. So who knows how wide a 66-67 hood is? Yes the cowl is at the windshield, almost touching, very close, that's how I wanted it.

My cowl is close to my glass too but the hood is a 65 for sure. Hopefully they can get it sorted out

same width..64-67 cowl screens interchange, so the hood would be the same width..that is a 67 hood..66 hoods dont have that body line around your scoop... 100% POSITIVE ITS A 67 HOOD..NOT A 66 NOT A 65...

YUP!!!! You guys were correct! Wow do I feel stupid.....Like I said I "assumed" it was just a bad copy, or that was how it had to be to graft the cowl on to it..I just finished emailing pics to Glassstek showing the difference, and they were "surprised" and "not sure how that happened" and thought for sure a 66-67 hood would ever fit a 64-64! So they're making a new one, and now I wait....................
