Help ! I bought an all new white (actually parchment) interior from Legendary, but they don't have the long armrest bases, and the 16" pads they have are black. I'm not sure how well black can be dyed to be white and would like to see if I can find a driver's side white armrest base and pad. The car is a 1970 Skylark Custom convertible. I'm bidding on a passenger side one on eBay right now but would be interested in a pair of each if they're available in anybody's surplus inventory.

    Saw something

Gary, I looked and think I saw what you meant, but they are listed as 68-72 and look like they're 11 inchers. There are also some pads only listed for Chevelle/GS/ etc. but the bases is really what I need - I did get the black pads from Legendary but am not expecting great dying results. So the search continues! Here's a shot of what my existing bases look like and it makes it clear why I need new ones!!

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

There is something about the white plastic GM used or bought from their supplier. It degrades over time to a white powder. As you are experiencing with your current armrest bases.

I would suggest you get a light color version such as tan and then use SEM vinyl dye to make them the correct color.

I have been yarding for 20+ years now, never found the white bases in good condition.

Also, just a note....many GM 2 dr cars such as Impala, Caprice used the same bases.

George, I truly appreciate your comments and suggestions. It's really amazing how friendly, helpful and great everyone on here is. I'll try to do just as you have suggested. I do have a lead on some now and will post later how I make out. Sure takes time rooting some of this stuff out. :eek2: (in the meantime, still looking).
