10k in this day and age sounds very reasonable. Hard to guess without insight into the condition etc. Scrape your pennies together
10K gets her home, better have another 15-20 to getter done and that's doing alot of the work yourself.
Hell get it home. Go from there. Prices are so crazy these days. Maybe I am wrong thinking 10k is a deal. Factory 455 GS though. Hope it is solid
Sounds kinda like mine. Sat out a lot of years but is now under cover in my trailer. Needs a lot, quarters, trunk floor, Interior. Needs some love to make it run. I think $10k is a bit much for mine and it isn't like it is for sale. But for insurance I usually go $5k but I doubt I could replace it for that. Pix and your desire to part with the coin and his desire to accept is where the selling price could meet up.
Hard to tell without pics. Most on here are SUPER experienced at this. All I can say is that a full resto on almost any car of this era runs about 100K if you want a show car. To just have a driver, you need to redo all the important systems...fuel, brakes, rear, suspension, tranny (maybe). Engine is always an issue, but really not the most expensive redo IF the block is solid. Paint on a driver can be buffed out. All this depends on how much of the work you do yourself. If you farm it out, the price goes up, of course. For example, interior packages typically run a couple thousand from Legendary. Installing them is easy if you know how and expensive if you do not. You get the picture. 10K is probably a steal, but have someone knowledgeable look at it if you are not up on all the ins and outs of '70 GS cars. There are great buys and not so great ones out there... Good luck!
