I'm probably going to go down Wed. Probably the best day to get some pictures without too many people in the way. We need to have a gathering one night for dinnner or something.

Maybe find a day everyone is in town before the weekend and hook up for dinner. Where are you guys staying, Scottsdale area?

Yes, we are staying in Scottsdale. A friend invited my brother and I, and he arranged everything..I'll get the info from him.

On a side note, which is kinda cool. This friend owns a respected Mustang restoration shop that had a hand in doing some of the paint work among other things to Carroll Shelby's personally owned (since new, original owner!) 1969 KR GT-500 vert that Carroll will be auctioning at BJ. This is the car that was at SEMA in BJ's booth this year.

So, we get VIP passes which let us go pretty much anywhere and we get to meet Carroll...

If you get to meet Carroll Shelby ask him where he got the idea for the cobra?? Heres a picturehttp://www.virhistory.com/vir/57-aug/hh-5708/hh-5708-2.htm of my uncle Roger Wing In a Corvace(78) in 57 which Shelby raced against and talked to my father and uncle for hours about the car. The car was a AC ACE which they put the Chevy 350 and Muncie 4 spd.

But that just goes to show not what you know but WHO you know:Smarty:

    Wow, neat pix!
So Roger Wing raced the corvace before Carroll built the Shelby?
I'll print these and bring them just in case I have a chance to show him.

HA...no, I am just going because I always heard that it was about the best car show there is. That plus a good friend of mine is the manager of motorsports marketing for Bank of America (MBNA) and is providing me with all of the VIP passes and such. Should be a good time...the wife is actually coming down with me too.

As for cars, I am about ready to sell mine I am so frustrated with it! Another summer with it stuck in the garage...:(

I'll be there Thursday pm through Sunday. Why don't we agree on a spot and time to meet. Say, in the tents out back where they store the cars by the Stage 4 GSX that's been talked about here.

Isn't there a fee just to walk in?? I thought they impose that to keep the tire kickers away. Just wondering:Do No:

Yes there is a pretty hefty admission price. The closer to the weekend, the more it cost. I already have my tickets but it's around $20 a day until Friday then it's $30 or $35. I got a little discount buying in advance. I don't go to buy or sell. It's just a really, really good car show and automotive event for me. Lots of stuff for the garage, pretty women, great cars, etc. I didn't say pretty women did I? Don't tell my wife I said that!

John I will need your bidder registration number and your Franklin brothers to pay for the "Stage IV" GSX. Occassionally during the process I will be raising your hand. Together we will win that car.

I am all for that! As I mentioned, I will be there from Wednesday thru Monday if anyone wants to meet up. I just got my auction catalog and all of the credentials just last week. Even have free drink coupons where I can get 10 free drinks a day (whoo hoo!)
Looking forward to a great car show if nothing else.

Mr. Lore...will you be attending this year?
