My Buick has been in the resto shop for about a month now. I'm trying to decide between two reds to paint it. The shop it is at uses BASF paints. I'm caught between '70 Fire Red and PPG's Absolute Red. I'm currently stationed in Japan right now and don't have good access to pick BASF's colors. Any suggestions?

Do you have a PPG number for Absolute Red ? There is a possibilty it can be crossed in a Diamont or Glasurit number.

Good idea, I'll see if I can find one.

Another thing you could do is have that shop get some of the PPG color and do a sprayout of it. Then they could have their BASF jobber scan it with the spectrophotometer and probably come up with a good match. Or they could have the jobber mail it in to the BASF color lab and get a custom formula made.

Thanks, I'll see if we can get it done.
