i have a 66 lesabre 4dr sedan with a 72' 455 stuck in her. My newest problem, among other things, is getting shocks and springs to compensate for the weight differance, going from a 340 to a 455. Anybody know some parts that will work well, or better yet some performance parts. I really want this thing to handle well and hug the road, as best it can for a land yacht. My current shock and spring set up is a set of gas shocks (non-adjustable), and stock replacement springs (for that car with a 340). thanks for your help!
455 swap Glad to see someone else doing this swap....... I am using a set of front springs from a riv. They aren't as tall as the original springs, but are stiffer & will allow for the car to sit lower. Got any pics? Tom :TU:
bb buick i will put some pics up. its a cool looking car. what year riv springs? what i kind of figured is using like 72' lesabre springs for a 455. I figure it will be close enough and have the stiffness to support the BB. Also figuring on finding air shocks if at all possible, but probably wont find any for the front end huh? yea my set up is kind of rigged, but it worked pretty good for a while 80 somethin ford 9" 72' 455 76' caddy TH400 3.89 gears SS Cragars dark metallic blue exterior blue interior currently using 76' riv spindles facing opposite ways ( i think the geo. is a little off, but worked alright for a minute.)
