    Hi Ed,
Sorry to see you sell the car off. You have put a lot of time and effort into this car. Seems like you can't get a break sometimes. Sometimes I wonder if I should just leave my car alone and not mess with it.

Funny, my wifes name is Joan and she gives me a hard time too.

    Good luck with the sale.

Looks like it will move - did you get a chance to run it before the knock?
    What caused the dry start?

I did not run it with the big block. When it was a stock small block it went from low 16's to low 15's, when the cheeeeeevy was in there it broke 14's and once the 200 shot went in it was mid 12's on street tires.

It was mostly a street racer. I went BBB because I felt like it was sacrilidgeous to keep the sbc in there, when I was in college it was all I could afford. Now that I have a 'real' job, the money was there for the conversion.

I was expecting 11's with the first 464 that spun a rod and wrecked the block. I was crossing my fingers for 12.90's, but expecting low 13's for the stock 462 that just developed a knock.

I yanked the motor and trans out of the car yesterday, pulled the pan and almost every rod bearing (top end) had some form of copper showing. The front and rear main showed some scoring on the bearings, but all journals looked damn good. See the "Has my motor lost its prime" thread in the Street/Strip 455 Part of the Forum for the whole story.

Picking up bearings tomorrow, and then it'll be back in the car. The price will be adjusted accordingly at that point. I'm really looking for a factory big block '66 that doesn't need paint and body work. Wrenching I can handle, body work and no '66 Skylark I can not. :Do No:
