purdy. Just look over it carefully. Drivers door looks like it has sagged pretty good. hopefully it's just hinge pins and bushings. (Though not sure why you'd make the car look that good and not replace them.)
Done deal, just bought it. Has a few things that need attention, nothing major.....except that south of the border interior....anybody got one of those little dogs with the bobbing heads for the dash? http://sleemansclassiccars.com/1962-Catalina-Convertible-Pontiac-Red.html Now for the rest of the story. LOL...I bought it for my brother in Alabama and will be shipping it down to him. He had one almost identical when new. It's going to have a cushy life down there, going from his house to the clubhouse on the other side of the community. Air conditioned and heated garage....LOL.. Just needs something to carry his golf clubs....LOL...
LOL...I'd have to wear nose glasses to drive it. It's a 389 2 barrel with the slim jim trans. what you figure, 17's? I really drives nice, brought it home yesterday. Came with an extra rebuilt engine and trans from a restored car of a friend. They put a 455 with a T400 in that car. There's also a correct tripower in the trunk, pair of nice Grand Prix seats and brackets, etc. Going over everything mechanically right now before I ship it down to him. Not the best time for me to be doing this right now, but definitely lifted my spirits...
Need some help id'ing the engine in it. It's a 2 barrel, but the PHS info says the car was built with a 4 barrel. Where are the codes/numbers/letters on it to tell me what I've got? It came with a complete extra 389 2 barrel and slim jim from another restored 62 Catalina where the owner put in a 455. Like to id that, too, to be sure. Fun car, drives nice, great 20 footer...just priced out a set of those gorgeous 8 lug wheels...all I can say is HOLY CRAP!
