ok, i hate to say it but im very tempted on selling my 67 riviera. it seems like i patch one part so that the other part can break! now my problem.... my car began overheating one night and so i pulled over, i noticed the belt was off the pulleys and so me and a friend put the belt on and noticed that the water pump was shot, so the next day we replaced the water pump, belt and thermostat:af: (jus in case), now all that in place, it still slips the belt, thing is that its either gotta be the pulleys or divine intervention or im missing somethingou:
I thought the same thing one of the problems I had was that the pulleys were not totally aligned. Use a long straight edge to make them correct. then make sure the belt width is correct, I found that the narrower belt was a MAJOR contributor to my belts fling off!! once I went to the correct width most if not all my problems went away!! (just my .02 worth)
I once had a problem throwing belts whenever I'd floor it.. pully alignment was fine, they wern't bent or wobbly at all. Come to find out that the problem was caused by the Alternator. It just went away after replaceing the Alt. I think My alt. had too much drag and wouldn't rev with the motor. (I did eventually replace it cause it was squeeling). o No:
it was the alternator :blast: damn auto zone, i shouldve checked the alt, but i didnt, trusting auto zone, big mistake. so i went to clarks auto in bellflower, ca, got the right alt, and now belts are on and staying on, not to mention the belt was more twisted than galaxia on anger management... anyways now my only problem is not being able to put more girls in the car... i guess i gotta be happy with 5.... ill see if i can get some to pose with the car :Brow:
