I want to upgrade my '66 Wildcat to a two hydraulic circuit brake system. I understand that I can do this by putting a '67 Wildcat MC and plugging the back hole on the distribution block and rerouting the rear line to the MC. My question is what MC do I need to match the booster? From this thread I believe the booster is a Moraine, but wanted to see if I could get confirmation before ordering the new MC. Thanks in advance.
Ken, I asked the same question, and got no replies. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=70891 Here is what I did that may or may not be helpful: I went to Advance Auto and bought a Cardone 1967 dual brake master cylinder. I took the crapshoot and went with the one "With Power Brakes With Drum Brakes With Deep Piston Hole With Bendix Brake Booster". It is part number 10-1328. I brought it home and it mounted up perfectly. It looks like it will work with the exception (big exception), that once I mounted it up to my 64 booster, the bar that holds the lid on will not open up. It hits on a dimple of the booster. It seems that the only solution that would be bulletproof would be to buy a '67 booster and '67 master cylinder.
Local yard just got in a 67 Wildcat with pb. I got the large alum drums from it and they are in exc cond. I can get the booster, distribution valve and mc (mc as a core) if you need them. Will be back at the yard on Sat, 5/27. I got the tilt wheel and power bench seat from it.
