Who has a stock 350 with turbos and stainless exhaust ? I'm looking for a nice sound at idle , but not too loud during normal driving or takeoff ! Let's hear your thoughts ! They'll be going on my lesabre so i don't want loud .PURRRRRRRRRRRRR.......... ! THX !:TU: :TU:
On my wagon too the left. I got a cherry bomb on it and it is very nice and quiet. Sounds really great & only 10 bucks, and it is just a straight pipe [talk about flow] It only lets you know its there when you open it up. It is in the stock position with a tail pipe run out the side. stock looking. -Matt
muffler Are you going to do the work yourself or hire a shop? If you are using a shop, talk to Midas. Some francises can do custom work if you want ot go to a larger size pipe. On my 68 Lesabre I used their performance muffler and it is more than silent (stock) but not like a flowmaster or turbo. I used their aluminized system which is long lasting and less then stainless. Total cost for the dual system was about $500 in 2 1/2 inch installed. - Bill
2 turbo's , 2 1/2 pipes , and spring ! Guys thanks for your thoughts here . Matt your cherry bombs i did back in 1971 on my 442 ! They sound great but I'm a lil older now , drive a big ole buick , and i'm looking for " just the right sound ". Bill- I think your on the right track , aluminum would keep the cost down a little , I'm ok with that . I'm not going to do this one , I'll let midas or someone local; do it ! I guess we got the pipes down ok , Which mufflers are the " right ones ?" NICE STEREO sound out the back , When i leave a light or stop sign i can still hear the tunes and people in that big back seat . Also i don't want everyone at every taco bell , jump in there cars and follow me to TJ !!!
I've got 2.5 inch exhaust on the '68 GS 400 with DYNOMAX turbo mufflers from JC Whitney, they were about $24 way back when I put the exhaust on in '95 and still hanging on and not loud at all. RV
I've got Midas special Turbos on my Lesabre...stock 350. Sounds pretty sweet, but has a drone at 1500 RPM...kinda kills the romance.
I have 3 inch pipes on my 98 dodge pickup and have flowmaster mufflers on it. It has a nice sound at an idle and a good growl during acceleration. Also not that loud inside while driving, does not go over the radio.:stmad:
Remember that you have Cats on your Dakota which muffle the sound a lot more. You'd have a much louder truck if you didn't have cats.
