Just thought I would share how I made the glass in my classics amazing. The glass especially the windshield gets weathered and scratched over the years and looks old and by necessity I researched it and found this and tried it, the results are simply amazing! Back story, I had mistakenly grabbed my bottle of RainX and used it in the inside of my windshield, and anyone who has used it can imagine the results, and it’s next to impossible to remove, especially on the inside. So, after failing with different things and worried I was going to cause more damage with chemicals and screwing up the plastic coating on our safety glass, I went to Google for solutions and found Soft Scrub. It was incredible….it made my glass so clear that I did everything inside and out and the glass is so clear and clean it looked new! Best thing I have ever tried. It gently polishes the small catches and years of neglect from weather right away !!!!! Just water a sponge and a towel to dry and Bam! So give it a try and believe me WoW!
I used some Soft Scrub on my Buick's windows the other day after reading this. It worked great to really clean the windows. It only takes a very small amount. Thanks for the tip. UticaGeoff
I've been using Bon Ami with a mesh covered bug sponge with excellent results for decades. It works wonders removing stubborn road film and whatnot from your windshield. I never thought about using Softscrub but I would imagine it would have similar results. Thanks for the idea!
The plastic on safety glass in not on the surface of the glass but rather sandwiched between the two pieces that make up our windshields. Short of sandpaper or steel wool, most chemicals will not harm glass.
i used to use bon ami too. then i read they changed formula to something that included abrasives. so not wure whu=ich way to go on bona ami
Soft Scrub is very mildly abrasive, that’s what makes it polish out the tiny scratching and removes all the crap and water spot etching, giving a nice clear look with minimal effort.
I’m using Bar Keeper’s Friend on chrome…last week on my 68 horn button - results were great. I’ll have to try on glass next.
I need to get some of this for my 300. The back window has always had something etched into it that wont allow the condensation to run off. Thank you for posting this! By the way, has anyone tried Softscrub on chrome bumpers?
