OK, some of you may remember my brother passing away suddenly in a 1-car accident 4 months ago.

I've been working with his widow to figure out what he has. Frankly, it is a bit overwhelming.

I'm trying to figure out what any of this is worth since we don't allow bidding at this venue. I don't want to rob anyone but I also want to get a fair price for my sister-in-law. He once owned a salvage yard and generally didn't keep junk so I would hope everything is at least above scrap metal value.

If you have something specific, I will look next time I visit (an hour from Bowling Green) and will get more info.

All of this can be held and picked up at the GS Nats.

    Here goes the highlights:

There is a complete short block V6 motor with an Edelbrock intake. There are heads but they are not assembled or in a condition I can state.

There are several sets of valve springs. I tried to take pictures of all boxes as I could.

Several sets of pistons, mostly V6.

Set of reconditioned rods, assuming V6 since only 6 of them.

One each MSD distributor for even fire V6 and 455.

2 BBB cranks, one with a tag stating .010/.010 in cosmoline.

3 BBB rear sump oil pans.

4 BBB blocks that we didn't have time to wrangle out.

More than a 1/2 dozen 8.5 rear axles shafts (not full rear ends) of some sort. Not sure if GN or A-body.

A box of assorted pulleys I didn't really look through very hard.

Lots of front covers for both V6 and BBB.

Lots of V6 steel valve covers, stock rocker shafts.

Lots of stock BBB rocker shafts.

    A rebuilt alternator.

    Headers for a V6.

Race headers for Stage 1 heads, outside the frame with one tube.

    AC Delco ATV/Motorcycle jack.

Various tools and other things I am not sure of.

Link to the album as posting individual pictures would take way too long.

None for a big block. Only one smog iron 455 intake.

No clue. Half what it would cost at the store? Free delivery to the GS Nats or can ship on your dime.

Generally speaking, used performance parts are worth 1/2 the cost of new, if in serviceable condition. This would include your pistons, distributors, and aftermarket stuff like that. If the part is not used, then your going to get about 3/4 of the current retail price, as the new owner is buying it "as is" with no warrantee.

Used 455 block and crank cores, virgin, and once the block is sonic checked, are $300 and $200 respectively, unless the block is a 70 455, then add at least another C note to the price. I won't buy any block that I cannot check the cylinder walls on. Been burned too many times. When I buy a complete core now, the price is $200 bucks, because I am assuming that everything is junk. I usually make a deal with the seller, to let me take it and disassemble it, and then come up with a fair price for what is usable. That's fair for both parties.

Used internal engine parts vary widely, really depends on condition, and the specific part..but those are typically sold by the box, or by the pound.. Pulleys, rockers, pushrods, valve covers, cams ,rods, ect ect fall into that catagory. If something has been restored, then the price is what you can get someone to pay.. hard to pin a value on those items..

I would suggest that taking this stuff to the nats and selling it on site, would be your best bet. I suspect that you would sell out in a day or so. I know a guy who specifically asked me to keep an eye out for those hooker headers.. I can give you his contact number if you wish, and get you guys together.. PM me. A tip on shipping headers.. individual boxes..way cheaper..

Sorry to hear about your brother..

I should make the Nats. Plan too.
Might take a gamble with a 455 block with its main caps.
    Especially 75 to 76 blocks.

Greg, the v6 short block looks to be a 109 turbo block with the turbo drain back hole in the front.
look on driver side rear of block #25526109
