I had 275/50/15 bfg's on my 69 with no rolled lip they did scrape very slightly on some sharper turns and inclines... id go with the 255 if i had to do it over again.

Id like to fit 275 60 15s on it

if at all possible...combined with 225 60 15 on ft..just thinkin right now. I like the new/old American TTO reissue wheels, like Torq D but with white centers. Sizes are kinda limited tho, just 15x7 and 15x8.5...fish

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

I've had 275's on several 68/69's on factory Mags .... its tight but never a problem. The real key is how the chasis is centered on the frame....I've seen variances of upto 1/2" from side to side.

    Have a read here http://v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=57677&highlight=backspacing

I asked the same question and got quite a few responses

    Congrats on the '68 !!

    Big tires

    Fish,

Using a Chevy 7-inch wide rallye wheel, I was able to put 255/70-15's under the rear of my 68 GS400. I was also running lowered Moog cargo coils. The combination looked great with 215/60-15's in front. The only rubbing occurred when the axle articulated going in/out of steep driveways.
