A sad day for Pontiac guys and all the rest of us that appreciate what Bill did for Pontiac performance. Obit
My condolences to the Knafel family. I hope this doesn't sound coarse but these old guys are dropping like flies. Please use this as an encouragement to enjoy them , tell them you appreciate them and learn all you can! K
Sad fact, but true. Third in the past couple of weeks. Don Nicholson, Wally Parks' Wife and now Mr.Knafel. Remember seeing various Tin Indian cars come to Quaker. Had some hot shoe Drivers, including Arlen Vanke. JR
Tin Indians Bill was a great guy, and put alot of fast Pontiacs on the track. I was fortunate enough to go to the Winternationals in Daytona, 1966 with Bill, Arlen (his service manager and head wrencher prior to going to Mopars) and Bill Abraham, who later was killed testing tires. I was 14 and thought I was hot stuff, dad hauled 3 Tin Indians down on a flatbed, pulled by his KW. Great people and great memories. The racing community lost a truly great guy. That is really sad to lose a legend. I recall going to races with Vance Brady and the respect he got wherever he went. Listened to a conversation with him, Arlen Vanke, and Arnie Beswick at Columbus at the NMCA finals a few years back. Keith: Sorry to hear of your dad's passing. There's another quiet legend. I sure enjoyed listening to him at the NMCA/NSCA races a few years ago.
My condolences to the Kanfel family as well, We do need to soomehow preserve Dave H, afterall in my book, Dave is the Oldsmobile guru, he's the dad that drove YOUR Oldsmobile...........and he tells it like it is being he was basically on the front lines of what was happening back in the day at Oldsmobile :beer Hhhm..............maybe a few :beer will keep Dave around forever
Thanks for the concern Erwin, but I'm not quite ready to be boxed up and planted yet. Also doing a good job of "pickling" myself.  Actually, I'd be more concerned where you are from snapping your nack back and forth with all the "scenery" out there. Tripping on you tongue can also be a problem.
thanks for concern for me Dave See, actually my problem is that I drive a cement truck, and its hard to keep your eyes on the road when you can't help but look over and down into a woman's car, especially when they're all dressed in one ofthem skirt business suit :Brow:
