Does anyone know for sure if the aftermarket main caps that are offered for the 231" V6 blocks, are compatible with the 350's??

Since one is based off the other anyways...seems like it would be an option to used these.

I was looking at Charged Air Systems's site - they have these caps available (below).

Just take the caps to a machine shop and have them bored out .5000 in.

If that was the only real difference - it would work then!!

I've heard of guys getting custom billet main caps made - cut with a flame cutter I believe. They make the bore diameter a little smaller - then have the block align bored.

They are layed out with 2 back to back. Cut the outside, bore a hole in the center (smaller than needed), then cut the piece in half - to give you 2 caps.:TU:

Nope, won't work. the 350 main caps are much wider than the v-6 cap, the bolt spread is also looks like a godd 3/8 to 1/2 inch wider on the 350 vs the v-6. Jim Burek
