My blower motor fan works sometimes for days and then it just quits. Usually when it stops working if I drive the car for awhile suddenly it will come back on by itself. I did previously have the motor cage replaced so maybe there is a loose connection or something. The thing is , it doesn't start from going over a bump or anything, it's more like something is heating up to make it work.

If it is a skylark check the ground wire that comes from behind the pasenger inner fender and attaches to the firewall.

Sorry,Yes It is a 71 Skylark and the ground wire is secured to the frame but I cannot tell otherwise unless I remove the cover and fender I suppose. Is this what you mean? Thanks.

Intermittent on all speeds. I would check the wiring at the resistor bank for the various speeds. The terminals on this are often unprotected steel so get quite rusty and rust does not carry current very well.

Isin't there a relay on the firewall.
Check and see if wires are loose.

The ground wire was not tight on either end but was connected. Hopefully that was the quick fix but it's hard to say since it was still working on its own for now. I previously looked at the resistor which looked like original and thought about replacing it anyway but cannot find it anywhere on line. The only ones who had resistors where The Parts Place but theirs was 3 prong for non ac cars and mine is 4 prong. Thanks for the responses. also, I already replaced the relay.
