I just purchased a 70 GS 350- the blower motor is not working. The relay is good and getting power as well as the connection to the blower motor. The connection to the blower motor has 1 wire hot with the fan turned to off and power to all 5 leads with the blower switch on. Could you suggest the best next step to diagnose this?

If you run a hot wire to the motor directly and it has a good ground it should run. If it does not its bad. They are not expensive or hard to replace.

Okay...to confirm the blower motor plug is access at the passenger side firewall and has a 4 wire harness plugging into it. Blue ,yellow, green and brown..... Which terminal on the blower motor should I run the hot to?

Brown goes to blower. It has a stripe on it also

ignition switch on and fan set to low I am getting 11.6v. When I turn the fan to off it goes to zero so it is getting power. I suppose to get to the blower I need to open up the clamshell. The side closest to the fender looks like it goes way in there.... What is the easiest way to r&r the blower motor...hopefully without removing the fender...?

Some say you can jack up the car and unbolt the inner fender and let it come down to give you enough room to remove the blower. I dont have first hand experience with this. I will say and the same time to put in a new brass high quality heater core

Okay, I will order a new heater core as well. Is it a nightmare to drop the inner fender to get the blower motor out?

I saw a write up here somewhere a while back. I believe if you search for heater core removal or similar it will show up.

Thank you for the link. After reading it I'm not sure if having my wisdom teeth out would be more enjoyable. Guess that explains why the heater has been disconnected for 20 plus years. .... Now for the grand question : What is the process to replace the blower motor only?

Most posts I've seen regarding that have the front clip off for the easiest access.

These are a couple of those jobs where you'd love to cut as many corners as possible but really can't.

Thanks Brett. Sounds like I picked a bad week to stop drinking.

Have you found the it best to follow the same -
Remove the hood , then the passenger side fender?

….learning to read more than I respond… sorry
In the write up I understand the blower/ core comes out through the ps side. The issue is the notorious nut on the firewall…. Accessible , if you can call it that, by removing the fender and all that entails, drilling a hole to creat a flap to get a socket in or, the last which sounds hit or miss is dropping the inner fender well enough….
It’s a small block car if that matters… I have not done this before and want to make sure I have covers all my bases before I delve into this right of passage into GS ownership……..
    Much thanks,

I believe that was highlighted in my post but I used this type of ratchet/wrench and it came out easier than I'd hoped.

Reversing the process - with some dum dum on the fingers to start the nut - was also simpler than I'd anticipated.

I wasn't about drilling any holes and was willing to exhaust all avenues to avoid that and removal of sheet metal.
