I know I don't need any heat right now but I'll need some in a few months. I've got no heat or very little but the blower works fine. How do you go about trouble shooting this problem?

    Things I've checked:
Radiator cap seals and engine temperature sufficient
    Thermostat functions fine
    Hoses are not kinked

Maybe I should flush the heater core? anyone have ideas or advice?

Originally this car had a 350 engine w/AC. Thanks.

Heater control valve, is it working? Actual coolant level in the radiator, is it low?

The heater control valve on a 70 lays against the AC compressor and was operated by vacuum.

How do you check the heater control valve? I was suspicious of this...

Flaps seem to work as well on the heater.

    Coolant level o.k.

It diverts water to the core. So is the hose from the valve to the core hot?

I have an extra you can use to test somewhere.

Not as hot as I thought it should be, I'll check it tomorrow.
