paint code 55. I dont know what it is called, that is the code he told me to paint it. As you can see by the roof it was a green body when I got it and a white door, one green door and a bunch of other colored panells. It REALLY looked horrible!

OK, Romy and friends got here after dark last knight so the set up tents and camped out. I cant wait to see how he reacts to the car in day light!

 

Is there any other reason why you didn't fully paint the roof? I read that it looks like it's getting a vinyl top put on, but it seems like cheap insurance to have an extra barrier. I wonder what it would look like with a two-tone paint scheme with the roof either white, or the saddle color? Looks sweet.

 

Looks really good, I hoping to start the patch panels for my 70 electra trunk next week and go from there. I probably wont have time this year to hit it with paint, but will try to get it primed and ready.

lol...it's not so bad...at least there are actually good replacement fenders this time!

About the roof, I didn't care if he painted it or not since it's just getting a (black) vinyl roof, to put it back to original. Scott thought the original paint that was on there was good enough, and I tend to agree with him.

This car was my grandma's car so I'm bringing it back to the original color scheme. There's some info about it in the link of my signature, although I haven't updated that in some time. The body was green (as opposed to gold) because I swapped body's since the original was so horribly rusty from Chicago winters.

All in all, I couldn't be happier with the car. Scott is his own worst critic and kept pointing out all these flaws with the paint. My only complaint was that I had to put a few bolts back in the fenders and doors! Otherwise the paint looks damn good, especially knowing what he started with.
