Ok guys it looks after about a year my body is finally painted and should be coming back to me in a few weeks. Its still on the rotiserie and i have all the major body parts painted. I've got the majority of the mech done and pretty much have a rolling frame. So before i start the major body assembly process I was wondering if and what printed proceedures are available. I'd rather not be putting freshly painted body parts on and off 6 times if i can possibly avoid it? I disassembled the car and figured just to reverse the proceedure, but anything I can purchase or print off would be an asset,:TU: thanks Gord

Next time you take the picture shut the flash off. Cars to shiny to get a good picture. Either way Congrats on getting this far. As for reassembing it I don't know of any manual that is out there but just reversing what you did would be fine just double check and triple check everything before you proceed.

Keep us posted. Can't wait to see it on the ground and rolling.

i would suggest getting an assembly manual if you dont already have one. and when you go to put the anything on that is painted i would also suggest that you put an thing of tape on the edges/ sides then move things around from there. other than that i have nothing else. good luck and it looks good in the picture

ok thanks guys, I kinda figured I'll just pick away at it and use the knowledge on the board or my buddy tazman when i get in a jam. I'll get the assembly manual and do some reading before the body shows up.
I was thinking I'd bubble wrap everything then start assembling but the body shop said no...:Do No:

The first pic is when I first laid eyes on the junkyard dog, it seems so long ago, heck it was a long time ago.....:dollar:

Just make sure all body mounts are in place as well as all brake/fuel lines that you cannot get at easily otherwise. Once body is down just make sure all mount bolt holes line up.

I hear ya, the engines just a mock up but I'm trying to find a chrome filter. Jim at Trishield is building me an engine for this car to deliver optimal fuel economy:Brow: .

I have a whole assorted box of new body mounts I got with kits. LEt me know what you need. I have several different styles. Know suppliers know that Buick used two extras. They just do not get it. You need to order convertible kit to get the 2 extra.

Dave I would purchase 2 from you, I'll dig out what PP sent me and let you know the dimensions of the mounts i need.
When I contacted TPP that i was short 2 mounts in my kit they were surprized and said i was the only guy that had a problem. I guess everyone else knew enough to order the kit for converts? Damn this resoration thing is a long steep learning curve...

Ok shes finally coming home, just checked my paperwork and it looks like its been in the body shop for about a year now. The body shop set the bar so high with the body and paint work now I'm nervous that I can do the rest of the car justice. This was suppose to be my driver but now I'm not so sure?

Dave I transported on the rotiserie, 120 miles in the enclosed trailer, tied down well it never moved. You can see that I build some all terrain casters that attach easily so I could move it around outside with little effort. The air in the tires prob add some cushion for the long trailer trip, just don't forget to lock the rotiserie so it doesn't rotate in transport, not so bad going to the shop but coming home it would suck.....

The trunk is original but its out of a different car, this is a rust free AZ lark with all original sheet metal, however a previous owner carried a trunk full of batteries for some reason and the battery acid unfortunatly got the best of the original trunk. The shop did a decent job replacing it from what i could see. I haven't seen the car in person since its been completed and the pics are from the shop. Hope to bring it home early next week, then the fun starts. Thanks for the interest:TU: , Gord

Eventually the stripes will be done by the shop that painted the car,
and yes i may have to look for anouther driver, possibly looking at a VW with the price of fuel going skyward....
