Has anyone used O.P.G. body mount bushings? I got mine last week and the kit came with 2 pair of smaller diameter bushings. I know that 1 pair is for the core support, but where does the other pair go? All of the large bushings have a 15/16 hole, 1 pair of small bushings have a 13/16 hole and the other small pair has a 9/16 hole. I called O.P.G. and they couldn't tell me where they go and there isn't any directions with the Buick kits.

Send em back and buy the CARS radiator support mounts and bushings for all locations that use a bolt. As they are full size like the originals. Those dinky ones were never used on a Buick and I would never use them on my car. The core support will sit lower than stock and sheet metal wont line up. You will still need their non-bolt mounts. Also if you did not order the convert set they will short you 2 mounts as Buick used two extra under the firewall. I believe Steele rubber makes good ones as well. They are more expensive but worth it. Just don't buy a whole set from Cars just individual core support sets enough to do each location. I bought sets from 2 sources until I figured this out. Even Cars full set is wrong!

Get the correct ones made for www.ss396.com. Get one 70 Chevelle kit plus two extras.

Jim, the pictures on that web site look like the cushions do not have the large washers molded into the rubber like original. I found these to crush up when bolts were tightened. Cars sells the thicker original type with the washer molded in. I even painted mine yellow to match OEM.

Man--ss396 has one of the worst sites to find stuff on (at least the particular part you happen to have in mind that day!). Search on "body mount" and "body mount bushing" yields NADA!!! Worthless. Thnx, Patton

OOps--found em--they DO HAVE the thick washers with the kit--BUT they obviously aren't molded in which would be nice--they are in the R hand side of the attached pic--just not real visible.

I tried those rubber cushions that don't have the washer molded in an they are crap! The rubber flattened out to nothing when I torqued bolts to spec. The Cars are close to original and work correct. Just buy the individual pieces from Cars for the core support kit. Don't buy the whole body mount kit as they are the same junk. At least they were when I bought them two years ago. I also bought that same Cheveelllll kit. Same junk. I know Tim from Western Canada has alot about this stuff on his website. The GM bushings he mentioned are discontinued now however.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm going to send the O.P.G. set back. After looking at some of the info I think I can find something better. I do know the O.P.G. bolts look like some cheap bolt from Home Depot, the SS396.com bolts look like good automotive grade.

Jim, Check out amkproducts.com as they have the correct body mount bolts with the wide heads and pointed ends. You can even reference the GM part #s ad they have a chart in back of the catalog and site. Most of the bolts are available except the core support however some way fit anyway. They have good stuff. I found this site as someone mentioned it here.
