Anyone use boostane octane booster in there BBB? I need 100 octane to prevent detenation.260GT and Cam2 stations are a pain to reach .My Nissan GTR race buddys swear by the stuff.
The forced induction mustang guys use it. The Coyotes have 12.5 to 1 compression and make over 800 hp safely with boostane
We use Torco in our supercharged Mustang Cobra. The little 4.6L has 10:1 compression and has over 740 HP at the rear wheels. I don't know about Boostane, but there are a lot of wanabe fuel additives that don't add much octane. See the Torco mix chart for the level of octane gained for a given amount of booster. I would want to see if Boostane has something similar and confirmed. Cheryl
Technically not a BBB, but 431 inches of Nailhead ain't a small block either; I do use an octane booster in it. I have never tried Boostane, but I would listen to Cheryl.
I dont know or understand exactly what that test is proving in regards to octane (not being facetious, I really am ignorant to what the test demonstrates in that regard. So if someone with more understanding than I can explain, I'm interested to learn), but I do like the video if for no other reason than their choice of music. Haha.
Torco separates when it is stored too long or exposed to light for more then a minute or so. It is not a problem if used within 3 years and not exposed to light for long. We get it in 5 gallon bulk and transfer it to 5 or 6 32 oz tin cans. We have never had an issue when stored and used properly in that same engine since 2010. We have a timing retard device that retards timing if knock is detected. It has never had to activate. Cheryl
Well I have been using this stuff for over a year and it works great. 12 to 1 in 494 stroker about 700hp.I use about 16 oz of the pro stuff to a tank full of 93 end result is about 100 octane. No detonation without it the motor has noticeable ping.
