unfortunately, when the heads came off, some of the cylinders looked pretty sad. Typical junkyard engine that wasn't still in the car. Also bought a 400 SBC that suffered the same fate.
Rob, I just stumbled on what I thought was a good deal for a spare engine core. One never knows when the urge to start another project might come over me. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind though, the best deal I've found when I needed an engine is $250. The engine I have in my skylark came off a scrap pile for $20 :TU: I have a secret junkyard here too if you can't find that special something...
By 'club soda', you mean a dremel tool, right? Maybe a 0.090" overbore.... but seriously, who's had experience sleeving a Buick 455? I don't need the service done (thank jeebus) but I'm curious
Chris... dare I ask? I prolly don't wanna know..... do I? :gt: by the way... Just fill that cylinder with JB weld, leave the rod out, and run the first ever Buick 398 - V7 :gt:
I've been listening to Clutch all day long and... a sailor's life for me, live free or die, never look a bounty hunter in the eye I also roll along 40 and roar down ten, then release my cargo around the big bend:grin: I hate to crack the axles, but you know, it's gotta be done
Not sure on a car engine but one a bike after a few hrs in the oven the sleeves will just fall out. Matt uzzled:
