Bill Wills called me tonight and said a Chevy group from his area wants to send 15-25 cars to our July 31st Norwalk test/tune. he says 15 is more reasonable. So everyone get prepared as i understand some bad boy Chevys will be there ready to race as they say they have never seen a street 11sec gs or gn. We definitely have to teach them a lesson and give them an education on Buick performance 101!!! So get your cars running on their A game and prepare to do battle with some Chevys. We dont know yet how we are going to do this shootout but when Bill and myself come up with something ill let everyone know. Hope this brings some more excitement to an already exciting day!!!:beer
As Bill gets more news regarding how many cars will come from this Hollywood Knights ( Chevy car club) ill relay it to you. Should be fun and bring up some good bench racing stories of yesteryear. Car count is looking good right now, John Schmidt informed me his friend will be bringing a SC dragster there so we should have some really fast cars here this year. Cant wait to meet all the new people and also to say hi to old friends. Safe trip and lets hope for dry weather, we have had 2 years of great wweather, lets try and make it 3 in a row.:beer
"They" have to pit on the "bad side" of the track, use the crummy port-a-jons, drink warm water, and eat cold balogna right? :gt: :laugh: LOL I'm trying to think what lesson Mel and myself will be able to teach them. I will probably have my 67 driver at the track for the first time and expect nothing quicker than 17's. And not only is it Mels first time ever racing, it will probably be in her 71 which we've never had at a track either. I'm guessing that little 350 might see 14's. I haven't even made a quarter pass in about 2 years myself. I guess we can teach them how to red light, run slow, miss gears, and pull .800+ reaction times. ou: :laugh: :TU:
hi all Hi ALL,Even if we did bring some nice fast buicks, They might have a 500 or 600 cid running low 8's chevy hidding some where in the croud.That would just plain embarrass us. i dont trust those chevy guys.....
We have the red opel coming and also hoping to get some big block buicks there. Last year had some 9sec runs from Bruce Aldred of Aggressive Performance. Also had some good runs in the pure stock cars and also big block race cars of Randy Kolasinski and Gary Paine, not to mention Shayne Dillinge. I have a few other guys bringing 12 sec gs there (shawn stemple with his 69 400 w/455 thats probably one of the cleanest gs around!) and also a few other guys. So lets see what happens. Bill told me over the phone one of the cars ets but my cell phone dropped and i forgot to ask him. He s supposed to get me a car count soon and also what ets these cars run. Should be a fun day with lots of bragging rights on the line. Im confident we will do well as Buicks are familiar at Norwalk!:Brow: More details will be posted when i get them!
